Ideation is the first step to building a great product. In its most basic form, it's comprised of the four steps below.  To build something great, whether it's a bleeding edge product or a simple fixture for a production machine, you must begin by identifying a problem or opportunity; something worth solving or improving. You then must gather all the required information regarding the context, technology, and user needs. Next, we work together to distill those ideas into clear, actionable product requirements that lay the foundation for design and development. These will be documented in a Product Requirement Document (PRD). Finally, with this document serving as a reference point, we can begin brainstorming solutions.

Whether you come to me with an idea in your head or you're years into development, I'm here to help bring your ideas to life, every step of the way.

We begin by understanding your goals, product requirements, and target users. We'll work together to clearly define function, aesthetics, and business objectives early on.

Step One:
Discovery & Consultation

Market and technical research identifies opportunities, benchmarks existing products, and defines how we can improve on them through smart design.

Step Two:
Research & Benchmarking

Together we translate your vision into actionable design criteria; functionality, materials, performance targets, cost constraints, user experience, etc. to form the foundation for all future design decisions.

Step Three:
Define Product Requirements

Hand sketches, and rough 3D mockups are used to visualize ideas quickly, validate concepts, and align on direction before detailed design begins.

Step Four:
Concept Development
